A Home Update from Jack & Doryann

Hi all,

Our house has finally been completed and set on the foundation! We are SO excited. Jack and I took some pictures today that we thought we would share with all of you. It only took them a matter of hours to go from a concrete hole in the ground to a fully assembled house. It was a truly amazing as it materialized before our eyes.

A little message from my husband...

At last a guy has taken the time to write this all down
FINALLY, the guys' side of the story.
( I must admit, it's pretty good.)
We always hear " the rules"
From the female side.
Now here are the rules from the male side.

These are our rules!
Please note.. these are all numbered "1 "
ON PURPOSE!
1. Men are NOT mind readers.

1. Learn to work the toilet seat.
You're a big girl. If it's up, put it down.
We need it up, you need it down.
You don't hear us complaining about you leaving it down.

1. Sunday sports It's like the full moon
or the changing of the tides.
Let it be.

1. Shopping is NOT a sport.
And no, we are never going to think of it that way.

1. Crying is blackmail.

1. Ask for what you want.
Let us be clear on this one:
Subtle hints do not work!
Strong hints do not work!
Obvious hints do not work!
Just say it!

1. Yes and No are perfectly acceptable answers to almost every
question.

1. Come to us with a problem only if you want help solving it.
That's what we do.
Sympathy is what your girlfriends are for.

1. Anything we said 6 months ago is inadmissible in an argument.
In fact, all comments become Null and void after 7 Days.

1. If you think you're fat, you probably are.
Don't ask us.

1. If something we said can be interpreted two ways and one of the
ways makes you sad or angry, we meant the other one

As part of my Eagle Scout Project and Community Service for Teaneck High School, I will be volunteering in the Dominican Republic from February 9-16, 2008,

I will be part of VHP (Volunteer Health Program), a group of Opthalmologists, Nurses & Eye Care Professionals who volunteer their time and services to those who are unable to afford medical eye care.

At this time I am collecting caps & visors to distribute to all while I'm there. Caps are an excellent way to protect ones eyes from the sun, & last longer than sunglasses.
If you have any caps or visors that you are no longer using, please donate them to a very worthy cause.

I will be paying for my own airfare and housing for the week ($460.00), as required by BSA Eagle Scout Project regulations. I am currently selling candy to raise money. Donations or candy purchases are greatly appreciated.

Meet Wilbur!

My name is Wilbur and I have a sad but true story to tell. I was found almost dead in some bushes, where somebody had slit my belly open and left me to die. Lucky for me a man saw me and took me to the vets and had me sewn up and I recovered fully from that. The problem was that this man went and chained me and left me in the hot sun all day. He was renting a trailer right next to a highway, and a rescue group saw me out there every day when they went by. He was going to be evicted and the rescue group left a message for him that they would take me, but he did not want to give me up. Finally, a rescue person gave him $100 and he finally left me go with them. Now, you would think that with all that happening I might not be friendly, but the truth is I am one big baby that loves everyone. I get along with other dogs, children and will love you to pieces. I am a big, solid boy (Likely a Boxer, American Staffordshire Terrior mix) and very strong but as soft hearted as a marshmallow. I never had a family to love me and care for me, so please give me a chance to finally have my own home, you won't be sorry.

Please help find these sweet puppies a home.

Rescued 6 black lab (mix) puppies out of the middle of the road on
Saturday. PLEASE help me find them homes - otherwise, it's Animal
Control - which means they only have 5 days. We've bathed them, sprayed
them for fleas and wormed them....but we can't keep them.

They are currently in a kennel in my basement since I don't have a
fence. I've lost count of the number of rescue groups that I've
contacted, only to be turned down due to no room. Please check with
every dog person you know to see if they need a puppy.

A wonderful story from one of my best friends...

Hey everyone.. My uncle, my mother's sister's husband, passed away early yesterday morning Slovakia time. I know he was a great man, but forgotten the details that had made him a wonderful man. He was the one who got my mother and brother into this country in 1968. My father had left in 1965 due to his strong involvement in anti-Communist parties and was forced to decide - either he goes to jail or he runs. He chose to run. He left unable to tell anyone, not even his wife with their 3 month old son for fear if anyone knew where he went they would go to jail too. He escaped risking his life running, hopping trains, whatever it took to get out of there. He ended up as a refugee in Italy until finally coming to America. During their 3 1/2 years apart, they kept in touch through letters, sometimes months would go by without my mother hearing from my father. Also, during that time my father had tried to get them to the US, even going through various organizations, but could not since no one could leave or enter Czechoslovakia during the Communist years. My mother had tried to get visas and did but with two limitations - she stays only for a month and my brother can't go with her. It was then that my uncle, who was a famous anchorman in Prague and who wasn't even married to my aunt yet, stepped in. He said to my mother, "Mary, we're going to Prague to try something else. I know the Prime Minister and we'll work it out so that your son can also go to meet his father." So they went, my mom filled out the necessary paperwork and my uncle handed it to the Prime Minister himself. A few days later the Bratislava police called my mom in, and as she was waiting in their hallway, the policemen walked by one by one and stared at her. She was then called into the office and found out why. Not only was she given the visa for her son, but she didn't have to sound so harsh with what she wrote in her paperwork! And so, the rest is history. My parents created a new life for themselves in their new country with their son and future daughter...and all thanks to my uncle who was able to reunite my father with his wife and son. I sometimes forget all the sacrifices my family made to get here, but I always remember to appreciate and thank them for all we had and still have.

Hello Family and Friends,

Hope you're all doing well. Just wanted to let you know that "our little man" is doing great. I've been feeling him move and kick for about 2 weeks now. He is very active and definitely has the personality of his father. During a recent ultrasound, he would barely sit still. He was kicking his little legs and feet, and doing what his dad does whenever he gets in front of a mirror, flexing his biceps. I am not joking, he was doing it and you can see him do it on one of the attached pictures. According to one of my books, they compare him to be the length of a large banana. Many of you that don't live near Keith and I have been asking to see a pregnant picture of me. Well I have finally popped out a little belly and thought you all would be amused by it. Not the best picture of me, but you get the point. Every day Keith and I get more excited about meeting our little boy next February. As always, thank you for all your love and support. We love you all.

Diopsys Celebrates First Win!!!!

Wayne, NJ - There was a good feeling in Wayne, NJ last night as the Diopsys team took the field. It looked like there was a little spring in their step. The fellas took to the field one man short, but that did not deter them from scoring the first goal moments into the game. I believe it was Matt.

As the remainder of the team arrived, tardy, it seemed that the starting team didn't need their help in scoring. As they scored goal number 2. The opposing team, the unusually Giant Mexican team, aka "The Courtside Bar" scored a goal as defender, Frank Taranto, was talking to this very fine looking reporter. Promises for an exclusive interview, you ask? Negative. She was shirt director.

Tempers grew as the teams battled each other for the right to refer to themselves as "Not the worst team." The violence also grew as the game went on, as many players were thrown out of the game by the Ref, who held up his 2 card quite frequently.

By the 21 minute mark, both teams looked exhausted. Team Diopsys couldn't connect with the ball to make the goals, while Team Grande resorted to the only thing they knew how to do.....kick, push, and punch. Puta.

It was a very exciting game, nonetheless. Fans cheered and sat at the edge of their seats as one by one, players were ejected from the game.

It was towards the end of the game, when Diopsys Team Leader, Tibor Szoke aka "The Hungarian Hunter," was thrown around like a rag doll by one of the opposing team members. Furious at the attempt to bring him and his spirits down, he was heard screaming, "What's a matter for you?"

The excitement built as the time continued to diminish. Diopsys, with little hope of scoring, due to their player ejections and having like 4 people left on the field, held team Mucho Grande so they couldn't score. Great defense was shown by all Diopsys players as they continuously kicked the ball to the opposite side of the field, in hopes to waste time. Brilliantly done, the Diopsys team wins!!!!!

Reporter Dana Zurichin quickly left the bench of Diopsys for fear the other team might be attacking anyone with an orange shirt.
